The Next Thing: N5M

Big Hey Y'all from Billy Traynor! Just FYI I've got a batch of great new songs and even better, I'm getting to spend my time developing and recording these tunes with some very cool guys - my good friends who are also amazing musicians: Abdiel Perez, Nate Hendrie, Eddie Rosa, Gary Sidell, and producer Nick Vandenburg. And we've started recording them in our newly upgraded Cave Studio on Tower Hill in Lawrence, MA.

I live in Saxapahaw NC, but my roots are in the old industrial city of Lawrence MA where I grew up and where I had worked for many years. All of the boyz have roots in Lawrence and some of us have worked together on some great movements to help revitalize that City. And along the way we found out that we loved playing music with each other. Some of us have played together in another Band called 'The Wobblies" over the last 15 years or so, and Nick, Nate and Gary were key artists on my first Album Beauty Inside Us.

Now we have come together as The Next 5 Miles - N5M on an album of 12 all new original Billy Traynor Tunes. Covid and new world disruptions have slowed everything down but that's OK because we are having a blast, learning a lot and boxing up some really good tunes along the way. As of today, we have the first 5 tunes tracked and will be jumping on the next 5 this spring. With any luck we hope to put out the (as yet Untitled) N5M Album in late '23 or early '24, with a couple of single releases this year. Stay Tuned!
